How can one forget Gulmarg and Pahalgam form Yash Chopra's 1981 classic Silsila? It's almost after thirty years that filmmaker Yash Chopra revisits the location where he earlier shot several scenes with Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha.
A unit member says, "Audiences will be reminded of those beautiful locales. Yashji loves Kashmir and he has always wanted to shoot there. But for a while he couldn't do that due to the militancy issues".
The unit shot in Pahalgam for around a week and then moved to Gulmarg. "Now, we will move towards Srinagar to complete the rest of the (final) schedule. The unit is likely to shoot around the Zabarwan Hills, Dal Lake and Lal Chowk," the unit member continues.
The renowned director is working on his untitled film with Shahrukh , Katrina and Anushka. Along with Yashji, Shahruk-Kat and Anushka are reminiscing the experience that Big B and Rekha had while shooting for Silsila.
Although the makers remained unavailable for a comment, the spokesperson for the film says, "At this moment, all we can say is that Kashmir, as a filming location, is extremely close to Yashji. That's why even after so many years he has chosen to shoot in the state.
