Chandigarh: Basking in their win over Kings XI Punjab here on Wednesday, Bollywood actor and Kolkata Knight Riders' owner Shah Rukh Khan threw a grand party in which drinks, including a rare whisky called The Last Drop, 750-ml bottle of which costs Rs 14 lakh, was reportedly served.
According to sources present at the party, ecstatic over the win, Khan threw the party to his team mates on Wednesday night. The revelers were exclusively served the scotch at the team hotel.
J W Marriott Manager Sunny Chopra said that the brand, which was served in the party, is among the costliest scotches sold around the world. He said a 750 ml Last Drop bottle costs Rs 14 lakh and is available only upon request from manufacturers in Scotland.
He said only two bottles of this brand were bought in India, one of which travelled to Chandigarh.
The party continued till the wee hours of Thursday and saw 37 liters of alcohol being consumed by players from the Kolkata team. Later, players from Punjab team too joined the the party along with their team co-owner, Preity Zinta.
UB group chairman Vijay Mallya's flagship Kingfisher brand, however, had only a few takers with just 2 pints consumed by the players.
Interestingly, Mallya, the owner of Royal Challengers, has already booked a party at the hotel.
