If Rajesh Khanna is the first superstar then King Khan is the biggest superstar produced by Indian Cinema; there’s no doubt regarding that. Low budget or high budget, family drama or pure romance, his movies have always enjoyed larger than life quality of success. Ra.One won’t be just another name on that list; it would stand out as one of his most magnanimous, record-breaking ventures, of all time! Here are the reasons, WHY?

sitting with his kids when the suggestion for a
superhero movie came up. That was almost three years ago; he has been working on the project since then. Although KKRISH was the first superhero movie of Bollywood, Krish didn’t display any visible powers. He was exceptionally strong and kept leaving across the trees and buildings. While, G.One flies , freezes electricity and more. To make it all possible to be seen on screen was a tricky task at hand because there were no instances of a superhero or a superbeing freezing the electricity in a movie. The concept was new and innovative and to correspond that, new technologies had to be used, technologies which had been never used in Indian Cinema. Ra.One has paved way for future superhero movies in many ways. And folks, work pays off! He brought in the American music sensation Akon to sing two songs in the movie too, paving way for international artists to come work in Indian Cinema.
A Marketing Genius
Oh yes! For all of you who don’t know, King Khan is also the king of marketing. Look at his movies in the last five years and you’ll know what I’m talking about. Every movie that he signed or produced has not only received considerate amount of positive reviews but has achieved great success. Starting from Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, his first production, he has heavily promoted his movies, not only the ones he produced but also the ones he starred in. He was the one who introduced the concept of theatricals, official music releases, live world wide airing of promos on TV and music videos for the movies. He travels the across the nation and sometimes beyond international borders, holds press conferences, makes appearances on talk shows, reality shows or opening of malls and brands and has even danced at weddings! No one puts more effort for promoting and marketing ones product like SRK. No one. For Ra.One, he aired the first look during the telecast of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 semis and final, is travelling around the nation, releasing the first song from the soundtrack on the internet, actively participating on social networks like facebook, twitter and WhoSay. He sold the broadcast rights of the movie for an astounding sum of Rs. 40 Crore to Star India, the record previously held by 3 Idiots (Rs. 33 Crore). Now, that’s just amazing!

Money talks! Money, money, money! Money Talks! Here comes the money! The amount of money SRK has invested in this movie is huge! I mean just huge! 200 Crore is not a child’s play. It is one of the costliest movies ever made! And given the marketing genius he is, SRK knows what he his doing, he’s not a fool. He is a self made man, who had nothing when he entered this business and now he has made a movie worth 200 Crores! He values money and he knows how to earn more. The 40 Crore deal with Star India has covered 20% of the budget already, and the release date is almost 5 months away! “And even if I loose a few Crores, I don’t care a damn! Because of what we’re bringing in with the movie and because I was able to fly for my two beautiful kids” said SRK, humble as ever.
Bottom line and the fact of the matter is this – Ra.One is going to be a blockbuster!
